Audience Feedback

One of our responses.

Audience feedback is a key element in the development of our music video but to also see what specific elements of the music video they liked. Also this process, the audience can give their own opinion and respond to this to give positive feedback to make our music video to a high standard.
The questions themselves had to be carefully selected but also worded correctly so that the questions aren't misread or confusing for the viewer. Also a variety of question types such as 'open ended' and 'closed' questions so that we could get some straightforward answers but also get some written feedback from them.
With our question we picked out key elements of the music video that we felt were important and needed to be addressed to see if the techniques we were using were giving the desired effect.

From this we learnt from this specific audience feedback...

  • The contextual references within our music video were recognisable but also used effectively.
  • Additional footage was noticed and was liked.
  • We found out that are music video interested the viewer and therefore intriguing them to watching more.
  • Elements of the Mise'en'scene were suitable for our music genre which made our music video more realistic and professional.
  • From others the lighthing could have been brighter but wasn't necessary.
  • An idea of including a performance concept that could in effect broaden our target audience but they said it works well enough without.
  • It is recognised as a 'rock' genre music video.
  • Our music video would coincide with similar music videos of the same genre.
  • That no other addition feedback was necessary after answering our questionnaire.
Other questionnaires were very similar in response.

Further more, we uploaded our rough cut to the general public to watch and to comment/ give some feedback, from other resources such as 'Youtube'. The screen shot on the left is some comments that were left in response to our music video on 'Youtube'. This appeared positive which proved we were on the right road with our product.
